After dreaming her whole life to owe her own tearoom, Mom recently opened her own franchise of Eileen's Colossal Cookies in Lawrence, KS. This is such an amazing time for her and my Dad. If you are ever in Lawrence, stop by, grab a cookie and say Hi!

New Orleans
So just an update on our dream of New Orleans. It seems dreams do come true. Jaime has accepted a job covering New Orleans in her new territory. Funny how once you put a little bit of energy into the universe things, the ball starts to roll. Who would have thought a year after I posted the idea of moving there, I would be planning my own move there. I don't know what I'll do, but I feel for sure that this move is the right one. Someone once told me that once you take the first step in a new direction, the doors would close in the old. I've noticed unfortunately recently a lot of relationships that I believed would last over time, have come to an end. God is preparing me to have no other choice, but to go this way. It's LA all over again! I am confident that I need to leave KC and relocate to a city filled with life, art and music. I can't think of a better place to be than NOLA. Wish us luck!!
If all goes well, it's officially 17.51 Weeks, 122.54 days, and 2941.06 hours

Jaime
Ok so Jaime is having surgery on her knee in the morning. I'm not sure anyone is following, but if you happen to run across this, then you should pray that all goes well. She does have Mom there to take care of her the next week or so, which makes me wish in some weird way that I was having surgery soon. We all love having Mom take care of us. LOL! Anyway, I think the two of them are probably having the time of their lives because let's face it, as much as they don't want to except it they are so much alike. I can just imagine the two of them watching Sleepless in Seattle while they make beaded bracelets. As much as we hate it, the apple never falls far from the tree. I think Mom's opening up her world more as we grow older and I think we are all closing ours just a little bit to become more like her. I have the most wonderful family ever. I love those guys. Don't get me wrong, I realize most people aren't given this type of family. I always envied other families until I realized lately how much we care about each other. It's priceless! We are not rich and we have never had it easy, but you will not find 5 people that care more about each other than us. When we die the only thing that really matters is the people we loved. I not only love these guys more than my life, but they've all taught me to love everyone. I live a life rich with love, and maybe not rich with dollars. I realize more everyday how important that is!!!!!!! Goodnight! I love you all!

Shake Whale
Lately things have been a little crazy. Jaime was recently laid off from her job in the insurance industry. Although it's a little scary considering she's have a major knee surgery this week. She's been very positive and is contemplating whether to stay in the industry or seek out something new. Caleb and his love Candice just returned from a roadtrip to Colorado. Even though the trip was plagued with car problems, they had a wonderful time. I've just been working like crazy as a Sony specialist at NFM. I am also in the process of starting my own collection of wedding dresses, and working at a bar part time on the side. To add to the load, I am starting school tomorrow. Mom flies out tonight to spend 10 days taking care of Jaime. She is so excited!!!!!
So we have been toying with this idea of starting a family bar/restuant. We've been thinking of moving away and starting a KC BBQ joint that showcases live music. Jaime loves the idea of calling it "Shake Whale". Someday I will have to have her post the story behind it. Caleb and I are thinking maybe something more like "The Yellow Brick Road" or some other reference to KC. We will see, for now I am going to keep track of all the brainstorming and ideas we have on this blog.
